About Ryan Mardon

My name is Ryan Mardon and I am currently a graduate student in the Master's in History program at California State University Long Beach. I graduated in Fall 2021 with a 3.972 GPA and earned my BA in History with a minor in Political Science as a part of the University Honors and Honors in History programs. I have always had a deep interest in history, specifically United States history, and politics, which is why I would like to get into the field of government and politics. WHAT I DO: Throughout my time at CSULB I worked as a Residential Assistant for California State University Long Beach Housing and Residential Life, serving as a role mode for students living in housing, as well as working together to create a positive and stimulating environment for residents to thrive in. Currently, I am pursuing e my Masters of Arts in History while serving as an Assistant Residential Life Coordinator at CSULB. WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT: I have been working together with others on teams throughout my entire life, whether it was my years of playing baseball, basketball, and soccer, my time working for my high school newspaper, being an officer of Model United Nations, or serving in student government. I believe that all of these have helped shape me into an individual who is able to not only lead and delegate, but also listen to others and work together, which would be really useful working in government. I have a strong and deep desire and interest in the government and how it operates and I actually understand a great deal about it along with politics, which is why I wish to work for the government and help the people of this country.
