About Ryan Young

Passionate and detail-orientated game designer/writer/producer with expert communication and project/employee management skills. Recently shipped an independent open world action-RPG titled "Ashes of Oahu"​, developed by a very small team of only 5 people. Since I was a small child in the Nintendo generation, I've enjoyed conceptualizing game mechanics and drawing out levels using things such as dice and graph paper. So it should come to no surprise that in my free time I am usually playing, designing, or reading about or writing about games. I also enjoy art, film, music, and literature, for without inspiration and understanding from all these things, most of my game ideas would fall flat.My main objective now is to land a position as a game designer, writer, or associate producer in a creative and successful studio either in my home state of Colorado or the west coast (LA, Bay Area). In order to utilize and strengthen my innate skills while getting my feet wet in all aspects of game design and development, my ultimate goal is to be able to climb the ladder up to a Creative Director or Executive Producer position.
