About Saima Patel

I’m an Advanced Practitioner in Children’s Social Work within a Safeguarding and Support team. My role involves working with children and families through some of the most complex and challenging situations, always keeping the child’s safety, stability and voice at the centre. I’ve built experience across child protection, children in need, care proceedings and court work, and I’ve managed DoLS, secure referrals and applications where there are high levels of risk and vulnerability. I try to balance clear analysis and planning with a relationship-based approach, making sure families feel heard while also keeping a strong focus on safeguarding. Alongside direct practice, I support colleagues through reflective discussions, mentoring and sharing tools that help us improve how we work and strength practice. I’m committed to ongoing learning and bringing curiosity, honesty and compassion into my work every day.
