About Sam Hawk

Hi, my name is Sam Hawk and I am a sophomore at Washington State University. In high school and during my first semester of college I worked for two different DICK'S Sporting Goods locations in Issaquah, WA as well as Irvine, CA. In high school I had a 3.3 GPA, played while playing baseball all four years and also played golf my senior year. Over this past summer I was also a hitting instructor at Top Velocity in Bellevue, WA where I mentored kids of ages ranging from 8-18. During this time I also coached a 10u baseball team for the Eastside Huskies Baseball program. In a work setting I've typically seen myself and been told that I possess leadership qualities. I believe that I do in fact project these leadership qualities because I also work well with others and am able to consider many opinions when it comes to solving a problem, whatever that problem may be. Although the different jobs I've had in the past are very diverse in terms of job description, I do think that this diversity is also very beneficial because it has allowed me to gain perspective from how different businesses operate and how I fit into different business settings.Lastly, I was also a part of the National League of Young Men for 2 years in high school. the NLYM program is one that provided me, along with many other young men, with opportunities to give back to their communities. I served as the philanthropy chair during my second year as a member and also earned around 30 community service hours during my time with the program.
