About Sandra Thompson-Quartey

Sandra is currently the Creators Program Producer at Young Vic. Her role includes programming and developing events, workshops and projects and supporting the recruitment of Assistant Directors and trainees for productions. Sandra worked as the Projects & Programme Producer at Artistic Directors of the Future (ADF) for four years between 2019-2022. ADF was the UK's first organisation dedicated to improving the representation of Black & Global Majority leaders in theatre. The charity made a significant impact on the theatre landscape and won The Stage Innovation Award 2021 for their work on theatre boards. From 2015-2020 she worked as a talent agent running her own agency, The Artist & Creative Avenue (ACA), previously called The Avenue, which primarily represented Global Majority and international actors across the UK, LA, New York, Italy, and Germany. She represented over 40 established and emerging performers, who worked in West End and for mainstream broadcasters and studios both in the UK and internationally. She also spent six months working at Identity Agency Group (IAG) supporting A List, seasoned and young performers. She was the Artistic Director of High-Rise Avenue between 2019-2023, a multi-disciplinary production company set up to produce exciting new theatre shows written by Global Majority writers with potential to be adapted for screen. The company was funded by the Arts Council England to commission and develop a play with JMK winner and Theatre503 associate, Kalungi Ssebendeke, which she is now co-writing. Between 2010 and 2017 she ran Writers Avenue. a theatre company set up to develop new writers and showcase artists. She produced over 20 showcases for writers, directors, actors at Soho Theatre and the Pleasance.
