About Sarah Ghavami

We are living in a rapidly changing world filled with excitement of prospecting advances in technology; we are living in a world filled with the idea of success and achievement; and at the same time, we're going through a major revolution: Industry 4. We are using all available tools to succeed. one tool that has been employed for a long time and now is being digitalized rapidly has to be marketing. In the midst of this all-encompassing revolution, we have moral responsibility of protecting minds of our young souls. We are shaping the world for them with all available instruments at our disposal. We have double duty to investigate negative effects of the changes we are making on vulnerable groups, especially children compared to previous generations. Marketing is developed on the shoulders of sociology and psychology. It is time to invite psychologists and sociologists to assess the influence of marketing activities on our society and individuals. For a long time, marketing has attended to psychological theories for the purpose of success. It is time for psychology community to attend marketing to protect our society while we progress towards an unknown future. Relying on more than 20 years of studying, practicing, research and teaching marketing, I am now interested in deep multidisciplinary research studies to investigate mental health effects of marketing activities on young people.
