I thrive in a team environment where everyone’s individual skills and strengths are appreciated and we can lean on and learn from each other in areas where we are less knowledgeable. I love getting a design problem or an area of responsibility and running with it, while taking responsibility to make sure to stay coordinated with the rest of my team and taking their needs and design intent into consideration. While I always aim for the best solutions there are times when the ability to create "good/better/best" options is critical to actually being able to successfully complete a project. I've worked on all phases of projects and while my specialty is building envelope there are fun and challenging aspects to each project. Whether that's an early zoning and code review or presenting building envelope goals to the design team or client. I've 3D modeled a schematic building and I've taken a 3d schematic model and translated it into a 3D construction model. I enjoy coordinating with consultants to make sure that the design intent is met while also listening to their areas of expertise and adjusting that design as required to meet all goals. I regularly draw or mark-up technical details, whether for my projects or to assist co-workers on theirs, and enjoy explaining and teaching the thought process I go through to find the best solutions so that co-workers are able to expand their own understanding of building envelope and construction detailing. I regularly visit project construction sites and document the progress in reports, provide punch lists, and coordinate with contractors to problem solve during the construction process. I'm always happy to lend my experience with navigating the FM Global Insurance review and documentation process whether that's just providing information or teaching others how to navigate the FM Global Insurance requirements for themselves. I also greatly appreciate it when co-workers are able to take time and share their knowledge with me, whether that’s reviewing my own work, teaching me something new, or sharing a different perspective on a problem.
