About Scott Chaney

I am a Software Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems and succeeding with my teammates. I come alive in whiteboarding sessions and live-ops incidents. I primarily write code in Golang (GO), Python, C#, and the.NET frontend web stack (Javascript/Typescript, CSS, HTML). I have also worked with Java, C, C++, a couple types of assembly, and a few web frameworks (VueJS, Angular). And I am always excited to learn something new. Database technologies I've used and developed in are MS SQL, MySQL and ElasticSearch. My recent work has all been on Linux (Ubuntu, Centos, and ArchLinux), but I have developed on Windows as well. I work with a variety of cloud tools and platforms: OpenStack, GCP, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Nomad, Terraform, Consul, Vault, Ansible, Puppet, RabbitMQ (RMQ), NATs. Prometheus and Grafana are awesome for metrics. My professional code leverages CI/CD with Git + Github for source control and Jenkins to build code, run tests, and ship binaries. I've spent a lot of time thinking about SCRUM and Agile, at one point was a certified SCRUM Master, and acted as a SCRUM Master for some amazing engineering teams. JIRA is. fine. I love writing code, working in the clouds, video games, hiking, my 2 chihuahuas, and spending time doing anything or nothing with my favorite person in the world, my girlfriend.
