About Seb Bunney

My Background I always felt like I struggled in school. I felt distracted and never really fit in. I was always trying to find my niche. This was until I jumped on a mountain bike at nine years old- my first love. This passion for riding drove me to spend my winters working at a pub, saving my pennies, and my summers at the age of 14 and 15 mountain biking and obtaining my instructing qualifications in Whistler, BC. At the age of 16, I moved to Canada, where I had the opportunity to go to Capilano University to take their Mountain Bike Operations Course. I had finally found a place where I felt accepted. From there, I would work as a mountain bike instructor and backcountry guide in the summers, and I would work for Arcteryx, selling products in the winters. But, after five years, my pedalling days came to a screeching halt. My body was quickly starting to feel the stress of years in the saddle. After my body began to respond negatively to long days pedalling, I decided to apply for my dream job since I was a child- working for my favourite mountain bike company Chromag. Blown away when they accepted my job application, I stopped teaching and started work on the sales floor, in addition to working as a ski technician on the side. I loved the intellectual stimulation of the job. However, after working my way up to systems and finance manager, I soon realized that Chromag had little room to move up. This made me pause and think heavily about my career trajectory. In the end, after working at Chromag for going on five years, I what felt like family to pursue my own personal endeavours and build a deeper understanding of myself. Since leaving Chromag, I have:* Co-founded an educational platform with some incredible minds * I am in the final stages of bringing an educational board game to market which teaches individuals the principles of investing and risk management * Started to learn how to carve jade * Taken up sourdough bread making and home milling flour * Embraced my love for educating, and have started writing financial articles for the layman * Looking to shift direction and take my coaching and communication skills and try my hand at life coaching Well, that's me, and that's how I got here. I am looking forward to everything life throws at me. “The meaning of life is to give life meaning”
