About Seppo Haataja

I have retired, but continue to work part time in our own new company. My pervious duty was a Director of Smart City Development at Business Tampere. I was also a member of the board of directors for the Open & Agile Smart Cities network (OASC). Before that, I headed the economic development program "Open Tampere" of the Finnish City of Tampere and acted as Director of OASC from 2015 to 2017. Prior to this, I worked 17 years for Nokia Oyj and Nokia Mobile Phones (NMP) in Senior Manager R&D roles in various business units. I established and managed R&D organisations for the Nokia Group as well as EU-level framework program consortia. I worked also abroad, two years in Cambridge, UK as a R&D site manager, and a year in Toronto, Canada as a visiting researcher. Before I engaged with Nokia, I was Senior Research Scientist over 11 years at the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT).
