About Serena Marsden

As an educator, my main goal is to facilitate students’ different ways of knowing through play, exploration, and social-emotional learning. Over the years I have worn many different hats including grade-level leader, preschool teacher, science and social studies committee chair, international school teacher, and mentor for teachers in training. Through all these experiences, my passion for education has been a common thread woven throughout all my undertakings. I enjoy collaborating with colleagues to create a safe, authentic, and stimulating learning environment for students. As a PYP practitioner, I have enjoyed creating and presenting on a range of topics for parents and colleagues, speaking and connecting with prospective families at open houses, and being a part of the admissions/observation team. I believe that effective communication, collaborations, and mentorship are vital components of creating a nurturing and supportive environment for staff and students. I have a proven track record of fostering positive relationships with parents, staff, and the broader community. In addition to my experience and skills, I am a collaborative team player who is committed to professional growth, staying current on and adapting new, best practices in education.
