As a strong leader, I’ve helped maximize productivity in two different Fortune 500 companies by optimizing the effectiveness of its employees. While higher education and trucking are two very different industries, there is a common thread that runs through them both; they share the same greatest resource…people.Knight Transportation actively recruited me to their company in 2015 after they learned of my success as an enrollment manager at University of Phoenix. As an enrollment advisor in 2006 I was pulled over for what was deemed a 9-week beta project involving the transition of our associate degree graduate students to our bachelor programs. I quickly rose through the ranks (from associate advisor to senior, to executive, to manager) to become a front-line leader of a division that grew tenfold over a seven year period and accounted for approximately a quarter of all students starting a bachelor's program at the university. Every year for the next three years I was asked by the company to take over another team in a different division to establish a similar culture of success, and did so.Over at Knight Transportation, the company was so busy growing that it didn’t take the time to properly build an infrastructure for nourishing its most important resource (people). To address this issue I came in and restructured the teams, authored training programs, brought in a whole new level of performance metrics, designed new reward and bonus programs, and created systems to ensure the continuous growth and development of those charged with talent acquisition. In 2016, year over year hires improved by 15% on a per recruiter basisI am a dynamic self-starter who has a knack for creating positive work environments where people want to continuously improve and contribute more because of an established mutual respect for self and company.
