About Seth Spykstra

I am going into my third year of teaching science courses at the high school and middle school levels. I am excited to lead the science department at Ascent Classical Academy toward the cohesive goal of bettering the minds of our students to learn the true, do the good, and love the beautiful. My goal is to help form the next generation into free thinkers capable of distinguishing the truth in all circumstances. What we need now more than ever is a population of critical thinkers resistant to being coerced by the ever-changing landscape of our culture, society, and fickle politics. I started at Ascent Classical Academy in 2022 and have had the privilege to accept the leadership roles of science department head and head coach for both the cross country and track and field teams. I have been humbled by the opportunity to lead and grow in these areas. At the same time, I also manage and operate my own music entertainment company that serves around 20+ events in and around the Denver area each year. I started SPYKED MUSIC ENTERTAINMENT LLC nearly five years ago back in my hometown Davenport Iowa while finishing my master's in exercise physiology. What started as a hobby has become a successful side hustle. Teaching and empowering others has always been a passion of mine. I discovered this passion while serving as a graduate assistant at Saint Ambrose University. From there it has continued in my career of teaching, first in Illinois at Quad City Christian High School and now in Colorado at Ascent Classical Academy. I hope to continue to empower others in this upcoming school year and in any career change in the future.
