Shaista E. Khilji is a Professor of Human and Organizational Learning and International Affairs at George Washington University, where she also serves as the Founding Director of the Master's program in Organizational Leadership and Learning. She is also the Founder of The Humanizing Initiative. Her research focuses on Global Leadership, Talent Development, Competitiveness, Innovation, and Cross-Cultural Management, with a particular emphasis on emerging economies. She has published more than 100 papers in tier-1 scholarly journals, book chapters and at various international conferences. She is also the author of a book entitled "Globalization, Change, and Learning in South Asia." She has received several awards, including “Honorary Lifetime Fellow of Cambridge Commonwealth Society”; the “Outstanding Service” and “Best Reviewer” awards by the Academy of Management, “Top 10%” paper award by the Academy of International Business, Emerald's Best Paper Award, a “Bronze Award” by McGraw Higher Education, collaborative team awards for hosting the Clinton Global Initiative University at GW and GW's VALOR award for program innovation. She has also been nominated for many other awards, including Washingtonian's “Rising Star in Academia under 40 Years of Age”. She has consulted with US and Canadian governments, higher educational institutions (in Singapore, Canada, Pakistan, Morocco, and India), and several organizations in the private and non-profit sectors globally. Currently she is the Co-PI of a US Dept of State grant for capacity building in Pakistan. She is also co-leading the leadership development of junior officers (US Navy) and the US Coast Guard officers at GW.
