About Shane Moynihan

I am the Fianna Fáil TD for Dublin Mid-West. Since 2019, I have been a councillor for Palmerstown-Fonthill on South Dublin County Council, representing communities in Palmerstown, Lucan and Clondalkin. As the EMEA-APAC Manager of Economic Graph Research and Insights at LinkedIn, I led a team of four analysts who harness the power of LinkedIn data to inform and influence public policy across these regions. With over eight years of experience at LinkedIn, I have established strong partnerships with governments, international organisations, and research bodies, delivering rigorous and robust research on labour market, employment, and education policy issues. I am a trained political scientist with a PhD from Trinity College Dublin, where I taught and published on Irish and European politics. I have a strong background in public policy analysis and evaluation, having worked as a senior consultant for ICF International and a policy adviser for the Confederation of British Industry. I am passionate about using data and research to create economic opportunity for every member of the global workforce. I am also an active public representative, serving as a councillor for the South Dublin County Council since 2019.
