About Sharon Conroy

Government Administration / Public Policy Development / Broadcast Media Professional with Project Management Credentials. Cork County Council has benefited from my contributions in tourism development, project delivery and policy development since 2018. As part of the Community, Tourism Rural Development Directorate, my role centres on fostering relationships with a diverse array of stakeholders, including industry groups, elected members, festival organisers and community groups, project management, policy development, providing high-level administrative support and contributing to the delivery of operational plans. Leveraging skills in professional communications from previous roles in the broadcast media industry, my work as a News Presenter and Researcher/Producer for Cork’s 96fm and C103 in Ireland, along with my experience at media giant Rogers Broadcasting in Toronto, Canada, has provided me with a strong foundation in communication skills. Education: I have a BA in Media, a Masters in International Public Policy and Diplomacy, a HDip in Project Management and CAPM certification, as well as a Certificate in Local Government Studies. Areas of interest: Tourism, Brexit policy, Trade & Economics, EU & International policy, Media, Marketing & Communications, festival development. I am comfortable working on new / unfamiliar work/policy areas and welcome new challenges.
