About Shaun Bailey

Shaun Bailey was born in a council house and raised by a single mum. He became homeless in his twenties and struggled to make ends meet. But he managed to turn his life around — and he spent twenty years as a youth worker helping others do the same. Since then, he has been an adviser to Downing Street, helping to deliver the largest youth programme in British history. He has been an adviser to the Department for Education, helping to expand access to the Army Cadets. And now he’s the Conservative candidate for Mayor of London. It’s fair to say that Shaun’s not a typical politician. But that’s a good thing. Because after five years as a Member of the London Assembly, Shaun has seen how Sadiq Khan is failing our city. Knife crime has hit record highs. Good homes have become more unaffordable. Our transport network is congested. And the cost of living keeps rising. As Mayor, Shaun will work with every resident in every community to give London a fresh start. That means hiring new police officers to make our streets safer. Building new homes to be sold for each. Securing more investment in Transport for London. And reversing the congestion charge hike on day one. Helping to create a safer, fairer, more affordable city.
