About Shaun Rieck

For more than 23 years, I have held leadership positions in diverse areas and organisations, spanning both government and non-government sectors. My responsibilities have encompassed leading paramedics, multidisciplinary teams of Social Work professionals, Allied Health experts, PEER and Aboriginal Health workers. I have liaised with internal and external stakeholders, across a broad range of complex and at times intensive and urgent situations.I reside in a Remote SA town with a large demographic of CALD community members, who represent minority groups and require careful consideration of their individual circumstances within their NDIS funding. I enjoy working in an environment where I can make a difference and I am passionate about not only my community but ensuring sustainability of services for the future generations. I believe it is imperative for a leader and manager to understand the idiosyncrasies and needs of each individual team to assist in creating a work environment and team culture that is positive and beneficial to the staff and clients and ensure a culture of continuous improvement. In various roles I have built an inclusive and respectful culture that allows teams to communicate honestly and positively to grow in their professional and personal lives. This has also allowed teams, team leaders and new managers meet the needs of communities and individuals. It was valuable to allow growth through “safe to fail” tasks and decision making to come up with innovative ideas.
