About Shawna Cameron

A "Jill of all Trades", Shawna Cameron has multiple interests and pursues a variety of activities both professionally and personally. Logical by nature, Shawna's M.Sc. has given her a solid grounding in scientific thinking. As a policy professional she gets to be as literal and pedantic as she desires, and can wield a red pen like a sword when someone dares to drop the Oxford comma. On the flip side, she has a creative streak with a passion for both writing and and photography: in addition to being the sole proprietor of a fine-art photography business, she has been writing extensively online since 2003. She believes in family, real food, recycling, Not So Big residential design, the right to clean air and water, that beauty is everywhere if you just look for it, and that small changes can have large, cumulative effects. Dream job? Being a Mythbuster. Since the logistics of that one aren't in her favour, she'll settle for finding something that allows her to- use her logical mind and writing/editing skills - not be tied to a computer all day, every day (maybe just 80% of the time)- be creative - teach people - make a difference in the world - have a good work/life balance, with flexible hour and/or teleworking options Specialties: writing, editing, photography, teaching, logical thinking, policy analysis
