About Shuling Zheng

Watching The Sound of Music movie when I was eight years old inspired me to be a teacher. Now, instead of having my brother and cousins sit in front of me while I pretended to teach them the ABC and Do Re Mi, I had taught English and Mandarin to over 300 children aged between 3 and 8 years old. I enjoy educating and creating unforgettable learning experiences for students of different backgrounds and nationalities. In my opinion, teaching is exhilarating and never dull as there are endless possibilities. There are many ways to teach a lesson, and the students or even I respond differently every time. I also enjoy working collaboratively and bouncing ideas with my colleagues, students, their families to support and create engaging learning experiences. I excel in Curriculum Development, Inquiry-Based Learning, Classroom Management, Collaborative Learning, and Educational Technology. My former boss has described me as "resourceful, diligent, creative, consistent, and committed." When I am not in school or traveling around the world, I enjoy reading, watching musicals, practicing my ukulele, playing strategic games, or simply enjoying good food and conversations with great company.
