About Sid Boersma

Sid Boersma lives in Stoughton and is married with two grown children. He is a graduate of UW-Whitewater in Social Welfare and has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from UW-Madison and PhD from Newburgh Theological Seminary. He has 30 years of experience in the field of Social Work and Mediation and Supervision, primarily in Dane County, Wisconsin. He is a veteran of the US Army where he served as a Medical Corpsman while stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He has been a Social Worker for the Department of Defense and the VA. Sid is a licensed Real Estate Broker and has worked as a Realtor since 2007. He holds several Real Estate Designations. Locally, Sid is a member of the Home Buyers Round Table of Dane County. Sid is a graduate of Leadership Stoughton. Sid has served on the City Council of Stoughton as an Alder and on the Executive Committee of Syttende Mai, the Norwegian-Stoughton holiday celebration and is an active member of his Church. He is also a musician and has been a singer in a number of Stoughton and Madison choirs, and plays a number of bluegrass instruments. Utilizing his social worker training, Sid volunteers as a Mental Health specialist for the American Red Cross Disaster Team and is a specialist for the Mental Health Response Team of Dane County. He has taught extensively in Social Work and Family Mediation. Sid has a great deal of expertise in educating new home buyers and finds this to be a very rewarding experience. He has a passion for helping others buy and sell homes, always striving to have his clients be thrilled with the end result. Sid has been a presenter on various real estate panels and has taught on the subject of real estate at a number of training sessions.
