About Sim Luttin
Sim is an Arts Leader, Senior Curator and Gallery Manager at Arts Project Australia, Naarm/ Melbourne and co-founder of Art et al. an inclusive international art platform. Sim has extensive experience in arts management, exhibition production, curation, grant writing, and strategic development. Sim is a 2023 alumni of the Australia Council for the Arts, Arts Leaders Program. The Leaders Program is designed to transform the cultural and creative industry’s knowledge by developing skills and capabilities of established leaders. The program brings together a group of diverse practitioners to engage with current and relevant themes affecting the future of the industry. Most recently, Sim co-curated Art et al’s Intersect (2022), Where the Art Is (2021), Mapping Our Future (2020), Spring1883 in Sydney (2019),'Leo Cussen: Golden Years' survey exhibition (2017) and co-curated 'Terry Williams: Rhythms of the Handmade'(2016), which was the first survey exhibition of Williams’ work over a twenty-seven-year career. In 2015, she curated 'Lisa Reid: The Devil's in the Detail' and 'Altered Vistas'(co-curated) as part of Climarte. In 2015, she took Terry Williams' solo exhibition to White Columns in New York. In 2014, she produced and co-curated the Arts Project Melbourne Art Fair stand, presenting over 500 artworks by over 40 artists. Sim is also a contemporary jeweller who has over twenty years of experience as a maker. She has exhibited extensively and is represented internationally by Charon Kransen Arts. Her achievements include Melbourne Now (2023), Circle Works with Linda Hughes and Katrina Tyler at Sofitel (2019), Keepsake with Kirrily Hammond at Bundoora Homestead (2017), and solo exhibitions at Radiant Pavilion (2015), Melbourne; Gray Street Workshop (2015), Adelaide; Grunwald Gallery (2013), Bloomington; Studio Ingot (2007), Melbourne; Pieces of Eight (2008), Melbourne; and Metalab (2009), Sydney, and in group exhibitions in Ontketend (Jewellery Unleashed!), Museum Bellerive in Zurich, Switzerland and By Example in Itami, Japan. In 2009, she was invited to design and make the Emeritus Medal Commission for the Australia Council for the Arts. Sim has her art jewellery in the collection of Galerie Marzee, Bundoora Homestead, Bluestone, and Art Gallery of South Australia and has been published in numerous publications. Sim’s ambition is to work in the creative industries and provide support and advocacy for neorodivergent and marginalised artists while maintaining a professional career as a maker of conceptual contemporary jewellery.
