About Simge Aykan
As the head of CogSpec Lab, much of my research focused on autistic traits and theory of mind in healthy individuals applying a continuum approach. The main idea behind this approach is that psychiatric phenotypes are not restricted to patients, and substantial variability also exists in the healthy population. The second approach that I am taking is the identification of quantitative biological measures (biomarkers), instead of clinical symptoms, to unravel mechanisms of neuropsychiatric disorders. Recently, I am interested in detecting complex cognitive networks during naturalistic stimulus and I am gaining experience in epilepsy research.
