About Simo Salminen

I have been in various roles from development to service and product management of Internet platforms for B2C and B2B audiences. This gave me also one of the best knowledge in Finland around Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) where I worked with all the big and most mid-tier suppliers. My supplier evaluation, contracting and on-going management skills were sharpened for many years at Nokia. My career has included very projects and lately also programs as the lead of those endeavors. I'm familiar with old school style waterfall and phased project methodologies like PMBOK and Prince2 but in the last 2+ years have mostly practised agile project and program management including XP, Scrum and my latest love Kanban. I'm now back to IT consulting and currently leading a program with 3 subprojects that replaces ERP, financial planning and accounting functions in a midsize Finnish company. Specialties: Project and program management including portfolio management for these. Consulting mid to small companies in strategic ICT issues and helping them to realize value from their ICT services whether in-house or delivered from cloud. Supplier evaluations, contract negotiation and management Strong technical skills in Internet services development and experience as service and product manager for such services. Special knowledge in Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) and Internet Service monitoring.
