About Sofia Servidio

I am a specialist in Sustainable Development and Gender with several years of solid experience in project management, communications and advocacy, research and consulting, and knowledge management in the international development sector. I have worked for the international department of a city government, the private sector, local and international NGOs, and the UN System. I am currently working as a Communications Senior Officer at UNOPS. Over the course of my professional career, I have gained significant expertise in international policy and managed relevant initiatives and projects on key development issues, including food sustainability, gender equality and social inclusion, and climate action. In 2017, I coordinated the Food Care Program of the City of Buenos Aires "Cuidemos los Alimentos". Later, I was responsible for organising the International Seminar on Gender ‘Women Who Make Cities’, supported by UN Women and Women20 in the year Argentina hosted the G20 (2018). In 2020/21, I managed the international positioning of the Climate Change Strategy of Buenos Aires. Most recently (2022-2023), I have helped 2 INGOs based in Denmark to enhance the impact of their communications in the Global South. My exceptional skills in planning and organisation have allowed me to manage effectively a broad range of issues. I am very used to working in fast-paced environments,(re)setting priorities to meet deadlines and produce results. Even under pressure, I can apply my strong analytical skills and attention to detail. I am a fast learner and work well independently, taking initiative. But I also enjoy working within team environments. I am motivated when I share ideas and enrich my thoughts with others’ perspectives. My main goal is to continue growing personally and professionally in the international realm, enlarging my contribution to sustainable and inclusive development.
