About Sonal Kapoor

Hi, My name is Sonal Kapoor and I am an Enhanced Language Training Program Coordinator. In my current role I conduct assessments for newcomers and assist them achieve their professional goals in Canada. I have a bachelor's degree in Commerce and a TESL certification. I have taught English as a second language in LINC classes. I have volunteered to facilitate English Conversation Circles and through my lived experience as a newcomer, I help them integrate into a new country. Due to my entrepreneurial background, I am a quick learner as well as adaptable and open to new challenges. In my current role, I assist people in their job search journey and handhold them to find employment or refer them to the right programs or services according to their work experience and education. I host information sessions for companies that are hiring and conduct webinars on topics related to employment. I am proficient in technology, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills. I am also one of the grant winners at Brampton Entrepreneur Center's 2021 Starter Plus Program and I am pursuing my entrepreneurial dream to serve communities around me. I also volunteer with community organizations because it helps me to reach out to newcomers who are looking to rebuild their lives and future in a new country of their choice. I look forward to new connections and collaborations to continuously evolve in my personal professional growth as well as work in an inclusive and futuristic environment.
