Background

About Sonja Ryals

I am a qualitative research professional with a keen interest in people's daily behavioural choices. I believe this isn't background; it is rather the stuff that informs the way we all live. Our consumer and behavioural choices signal to others our beliefs, intentions, and how we wish to appear to others. My professional goal is to understand this behaviour and place it in the wider cultural context. I am experienced in building and maintaining relationships with many different stakeholders. Conducting field research has taught me of the social intricacies involved in approaching people and gaining their trust in what is essentially an intrusion into their social world. I find working with people to be incredibly stimulating and rewarding.I am very comfortable with managing a diverse workload in high-pressure and fast-paced environments. My experience working at some of the best kitchens in New York has given me the organisational and time-management problem-solving skills necessary to meet the demands of twice-daily impending deadlines.
