About Sophie Ray

Sophie is an experienced Non-Executive Director, Board Chair and business owner. She is currently Chair of Peak Care Equipment Pty Ltd; Independent Chair of RSL NSW; Chair of ROCC for Women; and Director of Silos Estate. Previously, she was Chair of NAWO (National Association of Women in Operations); and a Non-Executive Director of GO2 People (ASX:GO2), Big Fat Smile, and Settlement Services International. She has worked in diverse sectors including law, agriculture, manufacturing, retail & wholesale, hospitality & tourism, early childhood, education & training and social & welfare support. Her executive career included fifteen years as a corporate lawyer at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Australia & the UK, with clients including ASX listed companies, multinationals, start ups and small businesses; and sixteen years as the owner of an agriculture, manufacturing, retail and tourism business in regional NSW. Sophie has particular skills as an NED of- companies which are going through change, growth and transformation- companies with complex supply chains, stakeholders and geographical spreads- member based organisations; and - companies in highly regulated sectors, reporting to Government or regulatory bodies. Sophie currently sits on and chairs risk & governance, and nominations & remuneration committees. She has lived and/or worked in the UK, China, France, Uganda and Sydney, and now lives in regional NSW. Sophie is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a graduate of Women on Boards ASX program and a member of Women on Boards.
