About Stefan Radovanovic

I am a passionate patient advocate and a patient expert dedicated to engaging, communicating, and empowering individuals within the bleeding disorders (bd) community. My history with the bd community started with my diagnosis of severe Haemophilia A in 1992. My volunteering journey, however, began in 2015 with the Serbian Haemophilia Society (SHS), where I progressed from Youth Member to Steering Committee Member. In 2018, I extended my involvement internationally by joining the European Haemophilia Consortium (EHC) Youth Committee. With the knowledge gained, I transitioned to a co-opted EHC Steering Committee Member to serve the broader bd community. My described journey has led me to work closely with patients, healthcare professionals, industry experts, and other essential stakeholders within the bd community. Through my experiences, I have become adept at promoting international collaboration and leveraging the power of shared knowledge gained from personal and collective experiences. Also, my work has helped me improve my interpersonal communication abilities and negotiation skills. As a law graduate and a licenced mediator, it was natural to me to use my people management, organizational and leadership skills, with implementing various projects that served our community. With a strong background as an experienced public speaker and patient advocate, I have devoted my time to working and volunteering extensively within the bd community. My interactions with diverse stakeholders have allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the challenges patients face and the vital role of effective communication in overcoming these challenges. By collaborating with stakeholders, educating patients, and fostering an inclusive environment, I strive to improve the quality of life of people with bd and advocate for solutions that truly address the needs of patients in their everyday lives, but also in their treatment journeys. As a volunteer patient advocate, I am committed to emphasizing the importance of providing the knowledge and information to the patient, as a tool for achieving its right for comprehensive care and good quality of life. The work I do has been a big motivational push for me in everyday life, hence I still don't lack any motivation to fully dedicate my time in doing something that actually matters.
