About Stephen Obrien

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in various industries, from retail management to sales in the lighting industry, eventually landing a role in as a member of An Garda Síochána. I began my career in retail management, where I learned valuable skills in leadership, customer service, and inventory management. This role taught me the importance of effective communication, both with customers and staff. I also developed my problem-solving skills as I had to handle a diverse range of issues that arose within the store. After a few years, I transitioned to the sales industry, specifically in the field of LED lighting. Here, I honed my communication and negotiation skills, which were vital in securing clients and closing deals. I also developed an in-depth knowledge of the lighting industry and the benefits of LED lighting over traditional lighting. While I enjoyed my time in sales, I knew that my true calling was in serving the community and protecting the well-being of the public. This led me to pursue as a guard, and after undergoing rigorous training, I became a member of An Garda Síochána. In my current role, I am responsible for upholding the law, preventing crime, and protecting the public through community policing. As part of my duties, I work closely with community members, gaining their trust and understanding their needs so that we can work together to create a safer environment for everyone. In summary, my career has been characterized by a diverse range of experiences, each of which has taught me valuable skills and prepared me for my current role as a member of An Garda Síochána. From retail management to sales in LED lighting to law enforcement, I have learned the importance of communication, leadership, problem-solving, and above all, serving the community with dedication.
