Sixteen years in National Governing Bodies (NGB) of Sport at senior manager and independent non-executive Director of a medium sized NGB, Chairman of a County Sports Partnership (CSP) line managing the CEO, former Managing Director of a small to medium sized limited company and a member of the management group of the European Sport Development Network. Fifteen years of experience of teaching in Higher and Further Education as associate lecturer at a number of institutions at foundation degree, under graduate and post graduate level. Qualified and experienced Mentor, Coach Educator and Trainer with a First Class honours degree in Coaching Science, Coach to Women’s Rugby World Cup winning England team in 1994, a member of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity, and an MA Sport Development Management from Liverpool John Moores University. Key Skills: Strategic Planning and Financial Management: Developed strategy and business plan to move from hosted agency to limited company with charitable status achieving a circa £60K reserve over last two years. Negotiations and Influencing: Successfully negotiated, with commercial partners, sponsorship leading to a 20% increase in operating budget for the delivery of programmes across the West Midlands. Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement: Chairman of a CSP Board of Trustees leading a board of 10 independent Non-executive trustees from across the private and public sector; engaging with a diverse group of national, regional and sub-regional stakeholders in Local Government, sport & physical activity, Public Health and the voluntary sector.
