About Steve Roch

I am a Full time Progessor at Fanshawe college in London ON. Previously self employed through my two companies: Rogue Automation and Roch Woodworks. For five years prior to that, I worked as a Controls Engineer at Great Lakes Copper. Before starting at Great Lakes, I started Rogue Automation and worked independently as a Controls Design and System Integrator. Prior to that, I was at GM-CAMI between May 2007 and July 2012 in the role of Controls Engineer for the New Product team (paint), Paint Engineering, and Electrical Engineer in the Facilities group. I have been part of the New Chevy Equinox launch team as the Paint Controls lead; I have been the lead Controls engineer on multiple robotic cell installations for paint and sealing automation, as well as several process improvement and efficiency projects. My facilities role at CAMI gave me exposure to plant substation layouts, preventative maintenance on switchgear, plant lighting upgrades, dock door installation and maintenance, air house controls, and fire system maintenance. Prior to CAMI, I worked as a Controls Engineer for two separate Original Equipment Manufacturers where I gained knowledge in PLC programming, Electrical and Pneumatic design, as well as Robot programming, HMI programming, Project Management and customer training.
