About Steven Atkinson

Ever since I was young, I had a strong feeling of globalism with the driving urge to help those around me. Growing up with a nursing-career mother, and a retired Army father, I have always been taught to give my all in everything that I do. These factors led me to join the customer service career after high school. After a few years of learning all I could from different mentors, I was given the opportunity to turn my culinary career down a different path and expand my horizons. I was given the chance to work for a family friend as an Au Pair in Norway, followed by a separate contract in Australia.Working as an Au Pair helped train me to the intricacies of foreign bureaucracy. I was given the opportunity to combine my parents' fields and serve my country through the American Peace Corps. Stationed in Senegal, I studied long hours to acclimate to my new surroundings. Senegal gave me the position to learn about government contracts on a local level and the creation and maintenance of cross-government collaboration. Due to an illness cutting my contract short, I returned to Fredericksburg and immediately jumped into working as a Data Analyst for a local outsourcing company that had just agreed on a brand new contract.Taking in every single one of my past experiences, and forging a new future with my burning passion for growth, I am excited to be able to expand my career with government opportunities!
