About Steven Moses

My primary responsibility is managing the Cultural Resource protection and Archaeological programs for the Snoqualmie Tribe. Tasks include reviewing 13,00development projects a month across western Washington; coordinating meetings between the Snoqualmie Tribe and over 20 Federal agencies, 25 state agencies, Tribes from the US and Canada, and dozens of local jurisdictions to ensure the following of applicable cultural and environmental laws, codes, and policies. I also manage the Tribe's artifact collection and work on special projects when requested by the Executive Director of Government Affairs and Special Projects. These projects often involve non-Tribal and Tribal elected officials across the state of Washington and cover a vast arrange of legislative, land use, education, and legal issues affecting Indigenous people and cultures. I spent 15 years in the IT industry focusing on systems design and troubleshooting, 19 years in the archaeology/cultural resources field, and 27 in management (including retail, call center, and food services since 1996.) I am skilled at managing individuals, teams, and projects with empathy, encouragement, trust, transparency, and honesty. My team and I can overcome almost any problem through teamwork, coordination, and a positive attitude.
