About Stuart Gray

Being an assistant manager within the outdoor pursuit retail industry is how everyone imagines it to be fast-paced and always changing. The retail assistant manager role is having the ability to be responsible for keeping track of inventory, preparing sales reports, and monitoring sales staff to ensure that customers are at the heart of everything we do, excellent communication and empathy skills are important key skills to make me successful in my role. Having the ability to multitask and cease commercial operations both to customers in-store and to other businesses. With this, I have a proven track record for meeting all sales targets set for me and ensuring the company brand is always at the heart of everything I do. Living such a busy lifestyle I am passionate, highly motivated and conscious of making the most of my spare time, using it to volunteer and give back to the community within the scouting association. With this, I pride myself on holding both the Gold Duke of Edinburgh award and the Queen Scout both showing the level of commitment, drive, and ambition inside me. Working my way to the position of District Explorer Scout Commissioner role. This requires a substantial amount of leadership competence and accountability as it involves managing the 14- 18-year-olds in the district who are enrolled in Explorers. This can be as simple as leading, preparing and running evening activities, or supervising and overseeing Duke of Edinburgh awards, right the way through to auditing and completing all group end-of-year accounts, Also high-level event planning and assessing selections for these, whilst both ensuring all census and safety records are up-to-date and comply with standards and overseeing all training management of the volunteer leaders. So what are my aspirations? Well always setting myself higher than-average goals, I aspire to both grow and develop further within the retail industry hoping to further my career path and take the next step on the ladder in my sector. Hopefully, I will reach my goal of being a multi-site manager within a National team.
