I’m proud to be Founder, Visionary, Owner and Director of NerG Ltd I enjoy, engineering and problem solving. Growing up in farming means you learn a lot of practical skills in a lot of disciplines. If you don’t know how it works, you have to find out. You want it to work, then fix it. That has been the same at work. It doesn’t matter if it is hydraulic, mechanical, electrical or chemical I need to understand it, so that we can make the right recommendations and solve the problems, no matter how complicated. Farming is also a small world. Everyone knows everyone. You give poor service to one customer, the world will know about it. We have applied the same thinking to our more diverse customer base in NerG. If we fit a piece of equipment, we will stand by it. That’s important. I’m lucky to be surrounded by a great team of people at NerG who also care about doing it right, wether that is installing equipment, or looking after it as part of a service and support contract. I trust them to do a great job and our customers tell us that they do. I enjoy working on complicated problems where we can provide a great solution for our customers - we often come up with a solution that hasn’t been considered by others in our field. Perhaps we will fit an electricity generator to make cheap electricity from natural gas and then pinch the heat that it generates at the same time to warm a building, or maybe we will fit a biomass boiler, a heat pump, or an absorption chiller. I get a buzz from finding a solution that makes a customer more profitable and saves them generating so much carbon too.
