After acquiring the CMA qualification with national ranking he joined VOLTAS (TATA Group) as a Management Trainee. This was followed with a stint with General Electric (GE- consumer and industrial lighting business in India) the assignment involved critical post-acquisition integration project and a successful ERP roll out. After nearly 10 years in the consumer durables space Sudeepto spent the next few years in energy EPC and pharma. In 2006 he took up the CFO role in a Japanese JV with TATA group and played a key role in the leadership team as it set up manufacturing and nation-wide distribution channels for automotive batteries. He did a stint for a Swiss company which was setting up their footprint in the Indian market for kitchen equipment -serving households and major QSR chains. Since 2014 Sudeepto has been the Finance Director for the Indian legal entity of a French MNC in automotive engineering and manufacturing. The assignment involved a complete financial turnaround and restructuring of operations; the unit which was haemorrhaging cash and losing viability was completely restructured with strong focus on operations and pricing. After 3 years the entity was back in profitability and generating cash for new industrial investments. The local entity financed the Global Capability Centre from India and achieved the viability and scaled up for key processes for the parent organization. Sudeepto is now looking for opportunities to deploy his expertise in leading teams which are seeking transformation managing new projects or achieving breakthroughs in industry or in setting up GCCs.
