About Suhal Semsit

Sühal Şemşit is a Professor and Vice-Chair of the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Manisa Celal Bayar University,Türkiye. She holds a BA in International Relations, an MA and a PhD in European Studies from Dokuz Eylul University, Türkiye, as well as an MA in Migration Studies from the University of Sussex, UK. Her publications and research interests include the politics of EU integration, enlargement dynamics of the EU, external relations of the EU, European Neighbourhood Policy, EU-Türkiye relations, migration policies of the EU and Türkiye, internationalization of higher education in Türkiye. She has been part of various Jean Monnet Projects (JM Modules, Chairs, JM Centers of Excellence) under the Erasmus+ Programme and COST Programme Actions. She has recently been among the key staff of the Heart of Anatolia Jean Monnet Center of Excellence at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University and among the key staff of Jean Monnet Chair in European Social Cohesion at Dokuz Eylul University. She is currently Management Committee Member of COST Action No: CA20123 on Intergovernmental Coordination from Local to European Governance (IGCOORD)(2021- 2025).
