About Sujan Kar
Doped and undoped (lithium niobate, lithium tetraborate, lead borate etc) oxide crystals were grown by Cz technique. These crystals were characterized for their optical quality and device application. Photorefractive properties of iron doped lithium niobate crystals were studied and various parameters like writing time, erasing time, diffraction efficiency, etc. were measured. Lithium tetra borate glass was also prepared by melt quenching technique and characterized optically. Thermo luminescence properties of lithium tetra borate single crystals, poly crystal and glass were studied and their kinetic parameters (order of kinetics, activation energy, frequency factor) were calculated. Nanoparticles of lithium niobate and lithium tetra borate were prepared by high energy ball milling technique and various milling parameters were optimized. Size of the particles was confirmed by SEM and TEM. Recently stilbene crystal is grown by Bridgeman technique. I have also grown some halide crystal like NaCl, KCl, LiF by Cz technique.
