I am Sunil K. Raman, and my professional journey revolves around profound expertise in the isolation, amplification, and purification of Mycobacteriophages. I investigate their therapeutic efficacy in combating Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) and non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) such as M. smegmatis, M. fortuitum, M. abscessus, and M. kansasii. I specialize in the preparation of Dry Powder Inhalable (DPIs) formulations using advanced techniques, particularly Spray Drying, Spray Freeze Drying, and Lyophilization. My doctoral research on Phage Therapy against Mycobacterium tuberculosis involved an extensive study on methods of transforming mycobacteriophages into suitable dosage forms for drug delivery. My expertise includes relevant techniques used in microbiology, molecular biology, and drug product development operations. I have experience in conducting preclinical studies of formulated drug products in infected murine models within ABSL-3 containment facilities, utilizing advanced bioanalytical techniques specific to Phage Therapy. I had the honor of working as a research scholar under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Amit Misra, an innovative drug delivery scientist, tuberculosis researcher, and exemplary professor at CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow. I also had the opportunity to train postgraduate students in performing inhalable drug delivery and formulation techniques. Additionally, I have five years of experience in the Quality department of biopharmaceutical industries, ensuring the manufacture of safe and quality drug products. I am continuously engaged and have volunteered in multiple collaborative research projects with biotechnology and pharmaceutical researchers.
