About Sunny Cheema

I lead high-impact DevOps and Cloud Engineering teams—building secure, scalable, and cost-efficient platforms that power global SaaS products. With 10+ years of experience, I lead the design and delivery of AWS cloud architectures across multi-account, multi-region environments—built for resilience, automation, and velocity. I've guided the modernization of legacy monoliths into Kubernetes-based microservices, scaled Terraform adoption with reusable modules and policy-as-code, and implemented GitOps workflows with automated rollbacks and drift detection. I embed FinOps principles into DevOps strategy—driving tagging governance, Reserved Instance planning, and real-time cost visibility to align engineering execution with financial efficiency. My teams focus on velocity without compromising stability. We track DORA metrics, streamline CI/CD pipelines, and improve developer experience through better tooling, observability, and feedback loops. Security, compliance, and SRE best practices are built into everything we ship—from least-privilege IAM and encryption strategies to OpenTelemetry instrumentation and actionable service-level objectives. Whether it’s scaling cloud foundations, improving delivery throughput, or driving post-incident learning, I operate at the intersection of platform reliability, developer enablement, and cost control—so engineering teams can move faster with confidence.
