About Susan Long

Accomplished, driven, and enthusiastic, Susan has 40 years in business. A customer experience fanatic, she is constantly looking for ways to "lift the bar" with everything she touches. Currently responsible for the sales and marketing for Mexico Liveaboards, she enjoys being part of a team and ensures that every client and customer has an amazing first, second, and third interaction with the company, whether in person, on the phone, or by email. She is also responsible for coordinating private charters and citizen science expeditions, brand management, website content and design, social media, newsletters, shows, etc. Susan is a well-known dive industry leader. Prior to Mexico Liveaboards, she spent 21 years as the President & CEO of Diving Unlimited International, Inc, a drysuit manufacturing company employing 75 people. As President, she was responsible for all aspects of running a manufacturing company in San Diego, including marketing, sales, customer service, production, production planning, research and development, human resources, finance, etc. Susan was on the Board of Directors for the Women Divers Hall of Fame and the Diving Industry and Marketing Association. She is well known for thinking "outside of the box," always looking for ways to increase the customer base, customer interaction, and satisfaction. Before the diving industry, Susan was a Director of Catering for Marriott Hotels & Resorts, handling all types of events, from weddings and corporate events to conventions with 2,500+ people. Susan is excellent with interpersonal skills, organization, and details.
