About Sushree Dash

Hi there, I'm Sushree Dash, a postdoctoral research scientist at Chalmers and a Ph.D. graduate in Engineering Physics at MTU. I'm passionate about exploring the fascinating interactions and applications of light and materials, especially in the fields of quantum computing and nanotechnology. For the past four years, I've been working as a Graduate Research Assistant at MTU's Microfabrication Lab, where I've mastered various aspects of thin film and device fabrication, optical microscopy, photoresist deposition, and nanoscribe. I've also leveraged and applied synchrotron-based X-ray techniques, such as XAS, XMCD, and XPS, to investigate the properties and potentials of magneto-optic materials, such as Bi-ReG and YIG. My work has resulted in multiple publications in Optica and APS March Meeting, as well as prestigious awards such as the Ovshinsky Student Award and the Distinguished Student Award. In addition to my research, I've also been involved in teaching and mentoring activities, such as serving as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, a President of Women in Physics, and a facilitator of brainstorming sessions. I've developed and demonstrated skills in data analysis, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and leadership, as well as a strong work ethic and a continuous desire to learn. My goal is to further advance my knowledge and skills in quantum optics, nanophotonics and device fabrication, and to contribute to the development and innovation of quantum materials and devices that can revolutionize the fields of computing, communication, and sensing. I'm not just a physicist; I'm your friendly companion in the world of science.
