About Taoheed Sikiru

Taoheed's career started with Ahmed Zakari & Co (Chartered Accountants) as Audit Trainee and rose to become an Audit Senior. He left AZ & Co to join Finbank Plc (FCMB) as Internal Control officer. As a young banker with audit background, he made impact in the control function of Kano Region of the bank that fetched him to be designated as the Regional Control Officer of 9 branches of the Bank in Kano/Jigawa Region. He joined International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) as an Auditor. At IITA, Taoheed has international working experience in an UN-like campus environment. His diplomatic studies acquired at ABU Zaria was of immense benefit when on audit assignment in Benin Republic, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone etc. He audited multi-million dollars grant aided projects at IITA amongst which are; Sustainable Tree Crops Programs (STCP) and Africa Research in Sustainable Intensification for the Next Generation (Africa RISING) projects funded by USAID funded by USAID, Support to Agricultural Research for Development of Strategic Crops in Africa (SARD-SC) project funded by AfDB, Putting nitrogen fixation to work for Africa’s smallholder farmers (N2Africa) and Commercial Products (COMPRO) projects funded by Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation etc. Left IITA to Linkage Assurance Plc as Head Internal Audit. At Linkage, he acquired expertise in insurance and risk management. He became a thorough bred professional in claim administration and investigation. At a point, he was deployed to reorganize and refocus the Compliance and Enterprise Risk Management department of the company. Now, Taoheed is a chartered insurer with great bias in Risk Management. Professionally, Taoheed is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN); An Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN), a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), a holder of the AAOIFI certification-Certified Shariah Auditor and Adviser (CSAA), a holder of the IIA-Global Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA), holder of ISO Certification in Risk Management. Academically, he is a graduate of Arabic Studies from UDU Sokoto, graduate of Accounting from Joseph Ayo Babalola University and graduate of Law from National Open University of Nigeria. At postgraduate, he is a holder of master’s degree in Business Administration from Bayero University Kano, masters in International Affairs & Diplomacy from ABU Zaria, masters in Islamic Studies (Islamic Finance option) from OOU Ago Iwoye and master’s degree in Accounting from LASU, Ojo Lagos.
