Background
About Ted Brunt
Ted Brunt is a media producer and master of digital transformation who loves experimenting with technology to create impact with global audiences. He is a Co-Founder/Producer at Sticky Brain Studios, where he leads creative strategy and operations, developing over 70 games and apps since 2013. Ted is always searching for the most exciting techniques that go beyond the established ways of doing things, with award-winning results. The projects he produced have won Gemini/Canadian Screen Awards, The Japan Prize, Webby, Youth Media Alliance, Kidscreen, W3 awards and an Award of Excellence in Preschool Digital. Ted's launch into media production started early, and he's an early digital enthusiast. After writing and producing at The Sports Network, he was a series editor at TVOntario, where he also conceived and built TVO's first social network, launched the organization on the web, and conceived and created TVOkids.com with an innovation unit in the 90s, before most millennials were even online. He was a key organizer in modernizing the Independent Learning Centre as CTO, managed the Ontario Educational Software Service and helped bring the Ontario curriculum to the web. He rebuilt CBC Kids online presence, increasing traffic by 1600% in the first year, and eventually went on to lead CBC’s Arts and Entertainment online strategy, and was VP of Interactive at marblemedia. He has advised on boards for Ontario Creates, TIFF Kids, the NFB and CBC, and was chair of the children’s InPlay conference for Interactive Ontario. Ted's commitment to lifelong learning makes him an excellent mentor in the industry. He believes people are filled with potential and he aims to challenge them to achieve more, whether by levelling up in game design, project management or learning new professional skills. As a leader, Ted grows highly cohesive, creative, and productive teams. He manages with high emotional intelligence that supports both individual development and the optimization of production pipelines. Although he wouldn't necessarily use buzzwords like "future thinking" and "growth mindset," they apply to him: He is constantly learning and acquiring new skills, using his knack for trend forecasting and feeding his constant curiosity to optimize digital systems that create innovative and engaging products with diverse teams who always benefit from his enthusiastic mentorship. He accepts responsibility for the infuriatingly difficult Loki’s Castle.
