About Ted Johnston

I am currently an Apprentice Quantity Surveyor working towards building my career in the construction industry and learning everything I can about cost management, procurement, and contracts. I enjoy the apprentice pathway as i am gaining hands-on experience all whilst trying to make a meaningful impact on the projects and the team that I am currently involved in. Before moving into a more construction based role, I worked as an apprentice manager in retail, where I developed strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills. Managing teams in a fast-paced environment taught me how to handle challenges, motivate people, and deliver great results. Fortunately, the skills I honed during my time in retail, I am now applying in my role as a quantity surveyor. With a solid academic background, both A levels and GCSEs, I am working at achieving a level 4 HNC in construction with my company. This opportunity is giving me a drive to learn and grow, I’m excited to take on new opportunities within the industry, all giving me the best chance at a successful career.
