About Teresia Garad

With an earlier career in the corporate sector and training in public health, I transitioned my background into positions as working on two national quality improvement health initiatives. Both roles allowed me to utilize my project management, teaching and cross-functional leadership skills. I then entered the nursing profession based on a burning desire to make a positive difference as a genuine patient advocate. As a Nurse Practitioner, having worked in hospitals, outpatient clinics and the non-profit arena, I have been directly instrumental in improving patient experience as well as quality of care. Over the last four years, I have earned an exemplary reputation for my compassionate, patient-centered style of nursing and commitment to excellence. My greatest joy is centered on ensuring that patients receive the best quality health care service. Intrinsically and altruistically motivated to help others, I cultivate a heart-centered approach to nursing combined with a sense of urgency and collaborative workstyle. Whether handling the physical and emotional demands of a busy community center, administering patient care or conducting patient outreach, I embrace each challenge with the utmost professionalism and personal initiative. In addition, my family roots in nursing and university teaching, along with my experience living and studying abroad, have allowed me to truly appreciate the multi-cultural diversity of my patient demographic. I also love to learn new things and pride myself on being a lifelong learner and educator. Participating in educational programs and counseling at health fairs and other community events are all part of my repertoire.
