About Terry Enga

Terry Enga International Trade Sector Adviser Environmental Industries Terry graduated in 1973 from Imperial College, London and almost immediately commenced working for British Gas as a scientist. Starting in R&D on combustion research, Terry worked on flame properties, burner and equipment design, super-high efficiency boiler development, energy conservation and metering. This research was accompanied by increasing responsibilities. In this period, he also worked as R&D coordinator on the Canvey Island LNG Terminal Enquiry, was seconded to work with Tokyo and Osaka Gas companies in Japan and qualified as an MBA. In 1991, Terry moved into exploiting patents and technology with a worldwide remit, covering all of British Gas’ intellectual property. Frequent travel took him to Europe, Russia and the Middle east. Terry left BG (the successor to British Gas) in and created a consultancy specialising in technology transfer, licensing and intellectual property management. He joined UKTI as an International Trade Adviser in 2004 bringing a wealth of experience about introducing new ideas to the marketplace, building business to business relationships and developing and exploiting intellectual property in a global context. He became Sector Adviser Environmental Industries UKTI South East in 2007. Terry has led Trade Missions to Norway and Sweden and has attended a Nordics briefing Seminar in Denmark and an Icelandic briefing in Iceland. He has made personal development trips to Vietnam and Turkey and attended Environmental and Energy Trade Shows in Abu Dhabi and Vancouver, Canada.
