About Tess Grindlay

Hello there! I'm a recent physics and astronomy BSc graduate from the University of Victoria (UVic) with a passion for learning about science and sharing that knowledge with others. I've had a variety of different work experiences through UVic's co-op program, including working with an infrared imaging camera at MDA Space, assisted with the James Webb Space Telescope science mission contracts at the Canadian Space Agency, and investigate characteristics of galaxies at the National Research Council. I've also pursued further research opportunities, such as a directed studies project focused on the behaviour of super-massive black holes during galaxy mergers. Additionally, I've participated in a variety of astronomy outreach opportunities, such as weekly Astronomy Open Houses at UVic's telescope, Saturday Night Star Parties at the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory and other science communication events.
