About Thomas Halket

Experienced Attorney, Arbitrator and Mediator. A Chartered Arbitrator, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators and a member of arbitral panels around the world, Thomas Halket has been an arbitrator for over 30 years. He is an Adjunct Professor at Fordham Law School where he teaches courses on International Arbitration and on IP transactions. Earlier in his career, he was a partner at Bingham McCutchen and before that at Hughes, Hubbard & Reed. Positions he has held with professional organizations include Chartered Institute's 2019 President, Chair of the Technology Advisory Committee of the American Arbitration Association, Chair of the Section of Science and Technology of the American Bar Association, Chair of the Subcommittee on Software and the Uniform Commercial Code of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and member of Task Force on IT in Arbitration of the ICC Commission on Arbitration. He is a member of the "Tech List" of the Silicon Valley Arbitration and Mediation Center, the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals and the London Court of International Arbitration. He is also a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Arbitrators in London and on the Scottish Arbitration Centre’s Appointments Committee. A frequent speaker and writer, he has co-authored and edited a book on the arbitration of international IP disputes and is a co-author of a book on the arbitration of IP disputes in the U.S. He is a graduate of Columbia Law School and holds bachelors and masters degrees from MIT.
